Hello there! Its been a while since I was last posting regularly and I hope to rectify that in the coming days. Sadly, my two-year old daughter was one again struck down by the dreaded lurgy - pneumonia! As some of you will know, she has been poorly for most of the winter but it seems (Nurgle permitting) that her long illness is now over.
I can see her jumping around on the trampoline as I type these words. With home-life settling down once again to a recognisable routine, and with the welcome return of bright light to the skies of England, my paintbrushes have seen quite a bit of action this weekend.
The first model I have completed is this lovely Wereman figure from the highly collectable Night Horrors range. This particular model was given to me by Steve 'Citadel Collector' Casey some months ago at an Oldhammer event. He was in a fairly bad way, smeared with layers of clotted paint and superglue but with a little exposure to The Dettol and Nitromors I was able to clean him up like new. The Wereman that is - not Steve!!
Now long term readers will know that I have painted a Night Horrors werewolf before - for my scenario the Daemon Prince and the Wood Cutter. So I was determined to do something a bit different for this lycanthrope. One of the key areas of my painting I am keen to improve is flesh tones, so I opted to work up most of the model using pinks - using only browns on the patches of hair that sprout from the model's body.
Once I had decided on my scheme, the miniature just painted itself. Though I struggled a bit to get the eyes to stand out properly. In the end I went for yellow eyeballs with a large black pupil. Very wolf-like I thought.
All in all, a lovely little model that took a couple of hours to complete. I shall be plcing him next to my other werewolf on the display dresser shortly.
